Trinidad, California – A small, seaside hamlet

This beautiful seaside village is located on the far northern California coast. It is not only the smallest incorporated city but is also one of California’s oldest places!  If you are in Portland, Oregon or in San Francisco, you are within an easy day’s drive to Trinidad.

The Turtle Rocks Inn Oceanfront Bed & Breakfast has posted a great video on their website of Trinidad:

This B & B offers rooms looking right out over the ocean

Check out their website:  http://turtlerocksinn.com/.  They offer restaurant recommendations, more pictures, and even videos of the area!

The #1 restaurant that they recommend is called The Larrupin’ Cafe. Located only 2 miles from the Inn on the same road, this establishment is surrounded by a lush green forest.  You can dine on the 1st or 2nd floors as well as on an outdoor patio.  On certain days of the week they offer live jazz.  Only dinner is served here but it has been a Humboldt County favorite for over 25 years.  The name “Larrupin” means “extremely delicious” and was the highest praise a Western cowboy in the mid-1800’s could give to a cook who prepared exceptional food.   Many guests recommend the Smoked Beef Brisket.
